Dr. Allycin Powell Hicks has a PhD in clinical psychology with an emphasis in health from Loma Linda University. She has trained at multiple medical centers in Los Angeles including Cedars-Sinai and Kaiser Permanente. She has also presented research around the world focusing on minority women, physical appearance, cosmetic surgery and the impact of media on body image. Dr Hicks has also been the beauty editor for Iona Magazine for the past eight years and frequently consults for screenwriters, directors, actors, and musicians. Her work extends beyond mental health and integrates aspects of aesthetics and physical appearance to improve the lives of her clients. Dr. Allycin Powell Hicks, Ph.D attended Oakwood University where she earned her Bachelors of Science in Psychology with a minor in Chemistry. She later received her Masters in Psychology at Loma Linda University then continued to complete her PhD in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in health. She received training in Behavioral Health at Cedars Sinai Medical Center where she also published three papers focused on quality of life. She completed her internship at Kaiser Permanente where she treated medically fragile patients, those suffering from depression and anxiety, and patients with personality disorders. Dr. Hicks currently works as a primary therapist at a locked residential facility for severely traumatized adolescents where she treats children with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Dissociative disorders, and psychosis.
Aaron Bernard has a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and earned a Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Loma Linda University. He is truly passionate about helping others reach their personal, relational, mental, emotional and physical goals through mental health therapy and coaching. He has a wealth of experience working with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, oppositional defiance, domestic violence, child abuse, PTSD, crisis intervention, grief and loss, individual, couples, and family therapy, to name a few. His skill set has allowed him to have speaking engagements across America and to be a guest on several radio shows promoting mental health and wellness. Over the years, he has also consulted with screenwriters, actors, directors, singers/songwriters and other entertainers. In his spare time he is a host/moderator and enjoys participating in events promoting wellness through holistic change.
Dr. Keisha Downey received her Bachelors of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Community Service from Barat College located in Lake Forest, Illinois. She later pursued and obtained her Masters of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy at The Alfred Adler School of Psychology. She then earned her Doctorate in Education with an emphasis in Psychology from Argosy University. Her research focuses on the mental health implications for heterosexual men engaging in same sex relationships when placed in restrictive environments. Not only does Dr. Downey help to educate the masses on mental health, but she consults for musicians, athletes, actors, and directors. Dr. Downey can currently be seen working as a residential treatment counselor on the VH1's hit celebrity series, "Couples Therapy". She is also a contributor to a New York health and training facility for individuals and couples and an expert panelist for couples events and mental health discussions in Los Angeles and surrounding areas.
